Les Vieilles Charrues.

To kick off this new section on our site, I'm going to tell you a little anecdote. We moved into our house the week of July 16, 2018. That week, a couple of friends on vacation in the area had decided to come and visit us. The weather was incredible. We then agreed to have a barbecue to kick off this new life/vacation. We knew absolutely nothing about the area, so we searched the internet for a DIY store to buy a barbecue. "Monsieur Bricolage, Carhaix-Plouguer". On our way, we arrived at the entrance to the town and noticed that it was a bit stuffy. "Hey, what's going on?" Traffic wardens are deployed all over the place... And finally we ask one of them: "To get to the DIY store, which way do we go?" "Ah but madame, it's the weekend of the vieilles charrues, the stores are actually closed".

Ok, so we learned that we were now living 2 steps away from one of France's biggest festivals, and in the years that followed (pandemic aside) we bought our tickets to this great musical experience. Nice.

The association unveiled its 2024 program last week, and some great names are still on the bill. If you can afford it, take the Klub package, bookable a little later. It gives you access to private parking, a space where soft drinks are free, clean toilets (not insignificant after 3 days of festival), backstage tours, massages, ephemeral tattoos and other really cool stuff.

So to sum up, if you want to spend 4 days to the rhythm of music, our Cabane is ideally located. Being able to go home, sleep comfortably, cook yourself something nice, take a little nap before going back, it's a perfect program for the start of a vacation. We'll be on hand to advise you on the best roads to take, the best pancake stalls, and to tell you where there's still sauce for kebabs and beer on Sundays at 5pm.
