Our garden

Tree at sunset with light shining through its branches, in a garden landscape with bushes and grass

Our garden, which covers more than 8,000 square meters, is a former agricultural wasteland. When we acquired it, only a very small part was being farmed by the previous owners; the rest was covered in ferns, broom, and gorse. The only older trees are those on the embankments.

We quickly decided to reforest it in different areas. An orchard with various fruit trees at the bottom, flowering and/or edible hedges here and there, apple trees around the hot tub.

It is an integral part of our accommodation.

Since 2021, we have been planting dozens of varieties of plants. Seeing them flourish throughout the seasons is the greatest satisfaction.

The vegetable garden

From June (depending on weather conditions) until the first frosts, we grow our own vegetables. We invite our guests to help themselves so that they too can enjoy fresh, organic produce. Zucchini, lettuce, tomatoes, squash...

The pleasure of harvesting what you will cook right after.

Small fruits

Blackcurrants, redcurrants, grapes, raspberries, kiwis, strawberries, blueberries, arbutus berries—we try to grow a wide variety of fruits to include in the fruit salads in our breakfast baskets or to make into jams.

The florist's garden

Flowers are an integral part of our lives. In our garden, we have tried to plant shrubs and plants that bloom at different times of the year so that we always have a touch of color. In summer, the vegetable garden coexists with different varieties of annual flowers to allow pollination of fruits and vegetables.

The apiary

Since May 2024, we have started to host beehives in our garden. We are working with passionate beekeeper Sylvain Guesnier, who is campaigning for the reintroduction of the black bee, a bee endemic to the region that has now almost disappeared.

Our garden, a true refuge, benefits from the pollination of hundreds of thousands of bees.

You can taste the honey, which is available for purchase in small jars at our house.

The aromatic mound

Just a few steps from the house, our herb garden for cooking or flavoring your herbal teas in the summertime.

Various types of mint, lemon balm, wild thyme, fennel, chives, sage, rosemary, calendula, Mauritanian mallow, true lavender, lemon verbena, etc.
